What is a two-wheel tractor for?
A two-wheel tractor (walk-behind tractor) is a versatile machine for soil cultivation and farm work. Depending on the attachments, it will loosen the soil with a tiller, plough the field, help with planting and digging potatoes, mow grass, and with a trailer it will handle transport. One machine replaces several separate tools.
How much power do you need?
The right power depends on the area and soil type:
- 5–7 HP – for a home garden and plots up to 0.2–0.3 ha, light and medium soil;
- 7–9 HP – for a larger garden and a small field, the universal choice;
- 9–13 HP and more – for fields over 0.5 ha and heavier clay soil, for working with a plough and trailer.
Petrol or diesel?
A petrol engine is lighter, cheaper and quieter – a good fit for occasional garden work. Diesel offers more torque and lower fuel consumption – it pays off with intensive daily work on a larger farm. Browse the full range in petrol two-wheel tractors and diesel two-wheel tractors.
Differential and reverse gear – worth it?
A differential (wheel lock/unlock) makes turning a heavy machine at the end of the field much easier – the bigger the tractor, the more useful it is. Reverse gear helps manoeuvre in tight spots. Smaller models for light work can do without them.
Attachments – what to add?
The most popular attachments are a rotary tiller, plough, ridger, potato digger, rotary mower and a transport trailer. It's worth planning your set upfront – we'll gladly help you match compatible elements.
